Which problems does it address?
A successful backup job does not by itself show what can be restored. Backup scope, destination and the recovery procedure need to be considered together.
Who is it for?
Businesses using important data, servers and applications, including reviews of an existing backup setup.
What can be included?
- Review of data and systems to protect
- Backup job and alert checks
- Planning remote or off-site backups
- Access management and backup documentation
- Restore tests and recovery by agreement
How we work
We start with business needs: which data is required, from what point in time, and into which system. We agree backup schedules, retention and checking responsibilities.
Service boundaries
Backup management within an IT agreement and a separate remote backup service have different scopes. Retention, recovery time and recovery point commitments require an explicit agreement.
